Dr Diarmuid Hester is a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow in English at the University of Cambridge where he is writing a counterhistory of New York art and literature from the vantage point of waste, broadly conceived. His work is published or forthcoming in the likes of GLQ: A Journal of Lesbian and Gay Studies, American Literature, the Journal of American Studies, the Los Angeles Review of Books, and gorse. His first book, WRONG: A Critical Biography of Dennis Cooper, critically examines the life and work of renowned Queercore writer, artist, and filmmaker Dennis Cooper and is forthcoming from the University of Iowa Press.
